Meli turns 29! yeah, yeah, like we believe 29

On Monday, March 2nd, Melia turned 29 yrs. old!!! Yep, I know, I wouldn't believe 29 either, but I was there the day she was born.

Dan had asked us to not say anything to her and go to their home at 6 for a surprise party. That ended up being harder than I thought. I couldn't even forward Jason's email since he wished her happy birthday, and i picked up my cell several times to call her and had to put it back down.

Anyway, when we were on the way to their home, we got another call telling us to take longer, that Meli was still in the house. So off the freeway we went and into the streets. When we finally got to the house, Meli was gone and we started de decorating...with Ian's and Alana's help. Abuelo started grilling the food and everything else came out. We didn't have to worry about Meli's food since she is in a no food diet or something similar where she only eats minimal amounts of food.

Meli was really surprised when she came back, the house decorated, everyone there, food ready and a lot of people singing and telling her happy birthday. Since she complained that nobody had called her to do so, we all took turns calling her one after the other and then we were able to forward Jason's email .

After that, photo and playing time, and little brother, future missionary Bryce, had fun "posing" for all photos

Happy Birthday princess!

Bryce receives his mission call

Just before Valentine's day, and the day he came back from a trip to Mexico, Bryce received his mission call to...Argentina Bahia Blanca

the family had gathered together to open the envelope. It was really hard for "some" to wait till everyone made it to the house. Even Rhythm was chewing the envelope but he wasn't allowed to finish opening it.

We all expected him to be called someplace in the States, since Jason is serving in Peru so when he said Argentina we thought he was joking but when he couldn't say Bahia Blanca correctly, we knew he was actually reading the letter.

Dad kept saying "que increible, che" or "that's incredible" in spanish. Kirk was especially happy since that is the mission he served in and Dan was on the mission just next to it, so they all started telling stories. Bryce kept smiling the biggest, most beautiful smile.

He will enter the MTC in Provo on 4/29 and, as of now, we don't know how long he will stay there - I guess it depends on how his spanish goes.
